Some Dem's voted against, but zero Repub's voted for. So much for Democrats having the exclusive on The Nanny State.

Think of it as the Republicans fearing the unfamiliar.
Call me Mel. Some years ago- never mind how long precisely- having little or no money in my purse, and nothing particular to interest me at home, I thought I would ride about a little and see the other parts of the world.

Either that or they are voting against the Democrats.

As a knee-jerk reaction, that is their most predictable behavior. You've probably nailed it.

Yes, I believe that is the way they define themselves lately.

Interesting when any governing body disallows lane splitting since it has been proven to be safer for the motorcyclist and has no downside for motorists (safety wise). (I know that many motorists seethe with envy when two wheelers ooze between them.)

Not a split per se, but lately I've been filtering to the front of the line at a long term construction project just East of me on 299 between Lord Ellis Summit and Berry Summit. It's been fabulous! I've had the highway to myself for the next 25 miles going East, and the next 15 miles going West. This project is long term enough that they've set up a traffic light rather than a flagman. Cranes, excavators, and a piledriver!
