The radio has to weigh a few pounds. An Ipod is nothing compared. Throw some new high-quality marine speakers in the fairing and you are good to go!

Sat morning at breakfast Rod was leaning toward removing the radio , are the LH & RH cubby and covers interchangable? I think he wants the space worse than the radio, but being a machinist ( and a very good one) he has to get thing working perfectly and know how they work.

No, two different doors.
But there is no internal liner, just the fairing.
But the lock is as much as the door...
