ABS would have prevented this?

This is for the discussion of Motorcycling. The art, the science, the theory of all things related to our favorite sport... riding motorcycles.

Let's ask Major Softie if that guy would likely have been able to lock up the rear tire without unweighting it first by using the front brakes. Major Softie had a bike from that series of Ducati. A friend let me ride his Paul Smart and the rear brake had the weakest feel of any motorcycle I've ridden.

Since the Paul Smart was designed to carry only a single rider, it has the Ducati norm very weak rear brake, thus to make it not too sensitive under heavy front brake.

My GT1000 had more effective rear brake. A little less sensitive than most BMW's, but nothing like the Paul Smart.
