Price even seems reasonable ... or maybe I am just seeing so many over-priced bikes .. that it seems reasonable.
Still ... perhaps a few grand in there to get it sorted ... and lots of hours ..
Rego is due on old schtarker, but that's all I gotta do. Is it OK to be tempted by ... an older woman?
Thanks for the encouragement fellas. I knew youse would be very thoughtful with my dosh.
For comparison at the moment $4-$5K will put you in the ebay market in Oz for a-
Yamaha XT500 (1 bid of $4K right now with 3 days to go)
1980 PE250. Restored like new but it would bloody want to be!)
Kawasaki Z750 twin
1972 Yamie XS2 650 (just sold $4900)
Ducati 860 (just sold $5100)

Your at $6K+. I say go for it. It's only (your) money Mal!
Thanks Steve and even all going well you could add -
alloy blinkers x 2 ($100 plus postage from UK)
fork gaiters (and no doubt a fork rebuild kit)
steering head, swing arm and wheel bearings?
speedo/tacho rebuild?
carb kit, cables,
battery
and ummmmm ...
Why "buy it now"? Why would someone bring in an import though and not want to auction it .....
That is a rare bike and seems to be in good shape with low miles. The Toasters are generally considered started in 1972 but that one may be one of the first produced. Go for it! What could possibly go wrong?
1971 R50/5, 1980 R100T,
CRF 300 Rally, CRF 250F,
1947 James ML
The toasters were first introduced for the 72 model year. That happens in 1972, so about 1/3 of any year's production would occur in the previous years. This is exactly the same with every manufacturer that I know of, so why do we get confused about the year with BMW?
Before you ask anything else, find out if it tracks straight with hands off. That is a bent frame.
Ask the Indians what happens when you don't control immigration.
