Yeah, I picked up two box fans to use in my DIY paint booth, and they have been re-purposed to blow across those lovely fins.
Out of curiosity, if I'm on the interstate in the summer time and it's 80 degrees with stop and go traffic, should I just pull off and wait for things to clear out?
There's an early 80's R100 frame on Craigslist here... ugh, so tempting...

No. The bike can idle fine while not in motion, and 80 isnt hot at all. It's "fast idle" that isn't good without air moving across the cylinders.audiowize wrote: Out of curiosity, if I'm on the interstate in the summer time and it's 80 degrees with stop and go traffic, should I just pull off and wait for things to clear out?

Be very careful when ordering from MotoBins
In addition to this link, I am finding many other items they have sold me to be rubbish, non BMW, poor quality, parts.
http://beemersandbits.com/2014/05/motob ... from-them/
And do you want to ship their crappy stuff back to the UK on your own dime?
The reason Moto Bins has the best prices is because they are selling shotty after market crap. I just learned my final lesson which is to NEVER order anything from them.daz wrote:Audiowize, that's the same bike I picked up. Darn near the same condition. The best price I found on bars was from MotoBins.

But it's too late, I'm sure Audiowize already has his bars installed since he's ridden 500 miles!

Yeah, I found that when I lacked confidence in what I was doing, I would buy parts from BMW Hucky and use it as an excuse to bother him for advice. He was also really helpful in identifying some random aftermarket parts that came with the bike.
Max BMW and Capitol Cycles got my orders for random doodads. I ordered a few too many doodads from Max and they don't seem to mind taking returns.

I can't say enough good things about Max BMW. They are knowledgeable and helpful when needed. And you get a pack of M&M's with each order!
