Don't get me wrong, I love my ol' crate, but it is after all just a conglomeration of expensive smashed together parts.
The only sentimental attachment I have to it is that I'm its original owner, asides from that, it's just another ol' GS.

Yep ,very ,very nice .A combination of 50's Brit and a handful of power and torque ! I spoke to one of the directors recently and we reckoned '' a poor man's Vincent'' is a reasonable description . About A$22000 , so not cheap ,but not quite totally outrageous if I win the Lotto , of course I'd have to buy a ticket first .

I got a call from Paul Carberry's brother Dan a few weeks ago (he's a fellow chippy living not far from here), inviting me over for a curry and a ride on the Carberry Enfield. Circumstances conspired to prevent this from happening. Damn, blast and Fek. I have an invitation to ride the bike next time I am in Melburg, with an understanding that there is no way I could buy one, but am keen to spread the word.

Anyway, this is fun but there hasn't been much progress on the windscreen question. Perhaps you could start experimenting with some perspex, looking at the curves, angles and heights of ones that are known to work. I'm not a big fan of handlebar mounted windscreens - I like the whole 'bugs in the teeth' experience - and the last bike I rode with a windscreen felt weird - my beard was sucked forward and side winds badly affected the handling.

I've never found a wind screen I liked, either, whether mounted on the handlebars or a fairing. Too much wind noise. And the back-pressure on a large fairing I find very disconcerting, as you point out, airbear.
