Koni/Ikon shocks allways get good reviews here, but I have a question.

Origianl Boge shocks have a travel of around 4.5 or 4.75 inchs. Koni/Ikons are 2.95 inchs. Does the superior damping of the Koni/Ikon make up for the loss of travel?

BTW, Progressive shocks are somewhere around 3.75" and YSSs are in the mid 3" range and I can't find any specs on Hagon, Wilber or Ohlins.

Just wondern. :?

My experience with konis was usually 2 up with camping kit traveling on roads which were sometimes like those on my sig,
Very positive, good control, bottomed out only on the worst bumps and mechanically very reliable. Good control back in Europe when more sporting riding required.

Boxertwinjeff, I am in Adelaide.

They are OEM Boges, 340 mm centres, and as I didnt notice a great improvement when I fitted Konis they must have been working OK when they came off.

But I dont know how sitting in a drawer for ten years will have affected them.

They weigh 3.4 KG so will cost a bit to post.

If you can send me a private message we can discuss price, but these $65- cheapies on Ebay seems to have put a damper on the second hand market.

thanks anyway Roy, though I might invest in a Brand new set of Ikons.
cheers Jeff.
