They are "both" gone? I think that was like fight club.
women..can't live with them, can't live without them.Garnet wrote:I spoke with GS a couple of months back and he was burried in work, and what I think he called "wimin troubles"
I offerd no easy solution to either.
Yes, they can, but bearings that are too tight are more commonly associated with inducing weave. Just a touch loose won't usually do that.Boertjie wrote: But OK, back to the thread, can steering head bearings also be a factor of weaving? I tend to think they are a bit loose, I can feel something when braking hard on the front brake. Damn it's hard to express something in another language
I for one, can't get used to FH being gone. The point/ counterpoint debate on many topics was good for thought. It also seemed that many of our more knowledgable members were more likely to chime in on topics he was associated with or had opinions about. People got personal about his disagreements. Some of us are really not used to a little friendly debate. After all it's just words...no faces, no voice. I never could understand all the name calling. All he did was disagree ALOT and put forth controversial opinions in exchange. Sensoring him for causing contoversy just doesn't seem right. He wasn't good at backing up what he said, but I think he was held to a higher standard than many of us. At least he had opinions, he was very willing to give them and he was extremely enthusiastic about Airheads. He was a Wrench and this forum needs more mechanics. The forum's not the same without him and probably worse off. Who knows, if he came back maybe GSPD would too.Duane Ausherman wrote:Glad that FH is gone, but I miss GSPD. I think that he is having hormone issues and resolving them quite well.

I must have missed the discusting imagery threads, I tend to skim over off topic remarks (like mine). I do remember others insulting his mechanical ability and questioning his experiance. He did seem to waste alot of time trying to defend himself. Knowledge is the key word. That's the reason 99% of the people come to this site.="Ken in Oklahoma
Your remembrance of FH is much kinder than mine. IMNSHO opinion FH went WELL beyond spirited debate, and he was never ever wrong about anything. His rebuttals could and did become very personal, and included disgusting imagery as the "discussion" went on.
GSPD was no angel and FH definitely rubbed him the wrong way. But GSPD was also helpful, going well out of his way to help somebody in need. FH appeared to have no real agenda other than everybody should honor his brilliance. He was the person for whom the expression, "a legend in his own mind" was coined.
I will hasten to add that FH did know a lot of important stuff. I will also hasten to add that the above are my opinions, not indisputable facts.

Have to take exception to you there. Sounds like indisputable facts to me.Ken in Oklahoma wrote: I will also hasten to add that the above are my opinions, not indisputable facts.
