It's all about the process. No reason to hurry. Image

Their website says they use high temp polyester tapes and silicone plugs. The tape may be good enough to protect my steering head race faces. I think I tossed the old races, already... :(

Rob, if you send all your parts to GSPD, there will be a finished bike in your mailbox tomorrow night!

Have you been to their shop, Rob ?
Pay close attention to the product that is ready to go out the door –
look for smoothness of application, bare spots, powder in threaded areas, drips, and the like.
Also try to check out the prep procedures – these will make or break a coating job !

Good luck ! Getting fresh powdered parts back will be like the thrill of a kid on Christmas morning !

If you do, you might want to get in touch with gspd and discuss his technique for using a drill to wind the speedo to rack up impressive numbers of miles. Well kilometers in gspd's case.

And then try and keep it that way?

Hmmm...

It could be worse than you realise, Rob. Before long, you'll buy a trailer so that you can display the bike at shows . . . .

I would think our frames are more of a semi-flat?
Gloss will eventually turn into semi-gloss if it is wiped down with dirty shop rags often enough.

Actually this incarnation will be a "no-odo", at least in mechanical terms.

The speedometer got smashed up pretty good, and since I don't really use it since I mounted the GPS (which was flown free of the crash and survived, fine!) I have decided to eliminate the unit altogether. A favorite machinist made this up for me, after I saw Stephens:

I am hoping to "rise above" high mileage bragging...

You mean besides the vent in the ground strap screw?
