Here's another article, this one about repairing the ignition. I still haven't found the article about modifying the bean can for that second hall sensor though.

Sorry about the piecemeal links. Here is the dual sensor mod article.

Thanks for the tips, I had found some other articles about the hall sensor replacement, but the trouble is now to get a sensor... I like the Alpha system a lot, and have always forund it odd that BMW kept the centrifugal advance. It might be a lot better to get an old points bean can, and fit a Boyer in that. But to get the Alpha over here, would mean a double in price, so until someone I know is going from the US to here, I think I'll leave that solution, even if it is the right one technically.

I thought Rob Frankham once posted a "How To" on repairing the Hall effect sensor for cheap.

For what it's worth to you or somebody else, Newark Electronics has them. Better hurry though, they only have 281 left.

Don't know what it would take to get them shipped to Denmark though.
I'm thinking that I might order a couple spares myself. I'm pretty sure they'll be able to get them to Oklahoma.

Right you are Native. I hadn't stumbled onto that article before. I haven't perused it yet, but at a glance it looks good. Rob thinks and writes well.
I've saved the web page to my computer for future reference.
Edited to put in Rob's Link

Yes, of course! I thought I had, but must have evidently edited it out somehow. Here 'tis.
