Clutch plate screws, not bolts. Impact wrench?

You can always weld a nut to each screw and use a long box end wrench or 6 point socket with a long ratchet handle.

Here is a nice little impact screwdriver set from Mike's XS supply.
The one at Sears works just as well (same money) but this one has a box to keep everything together.

And they do work well for the job at hand......... cept when you get that bit of skin between your thumb and forfinger over the end of the driver, and then hit it with the hammer. Then the driver goes flying across the shop and the bit falls out under the work bench where you are afraid to stick your hand.justoneoftheguys wrote:

I got a new Impact driver. (the one recommended on this topic from Mikesxs.com). I twisted the driver while whacking it and it took 3 screws out very easily. The other 3 put up a challenge... so out came the propane torch. The the 4th came out easy. The 5th took a bit more work... and well, the 6th...it gave me a nasty blood blister but i finally got it.Native /5 wrote: Josh,
I have found that with those impact drivers it helps to put a little twist into the driver with your holding hand, in the direction you want the screw to turn, while whacking with the hammer. You can feel a detent when you change directions with the driver. Turn it past the detent in "your" direction, then hold it against the stop while whacking.

Every project requires a little blood letting. Your work area sound remarkably similar to mine.
