Now you're starting to make since. A bad set of heads isn't the end of the world. That's why bikes are better than women. They can be rebuilt when performance drops.

"I'll get me wife to call and speak to them maybe answer my questions"

Does your wife have a cooler head? She'll actually help you fix your motorcycle.....? You're a lucky man.

Lyman, give a call to Rob Grauer who posts on this list, as he is THE BMW head guru and lives in San Jose. Fast turnaround and he won't let you down.

Well, earlier you indicated that you had confidence in the person who you were going to have do your heads. And now the compression still isn't up to snuff. Unfortunately, as Major Softie indicated, that's an expensive way to trouble shoot. But the good news is, if it isn't the heads, then there's only a few things that can cause low compression.

What is the history of your piston's, rings, and cylinders? Those are the most likely culprits. Have you tried oil in the cylinders to see if it is a ring sealing problem? You're riding the bike. Is the power down from where it should be? Are there any signs of oil burning? Is there any chance the valve timing isn't right? What are the actual compression figures for both the left and right cylinders that you're reading?

Tell us again about the history of your problem with as much detail as you can.

I'm not likely going to be the guy who diagnoses your problem, but there are others here who are very competent. Feed them all the information you can, such as answers to the above questions, and you'll be putting them in a better position to help you.

Save yourself a lot of head scratching and do leak down test if you're sure it's compression.

I built something similar to this with cheap hardware store parts.
