Yes Ken, multi weight oil was around in the late 60s. However, there were problems with it.

found I.D. plates at Benchmarkworks!, still no luck though with the Service decal

There is a guy selling these on ebay, is that the one you are trying to verify?

I cant enlarge your pic Tim to see it. I did find a nice one on Ebay, but not sure whether its correct for the '73 model

oh! :D ok, yes thats the ID Plate I'd like verified as the correct one for my '73 model..please.

Better not pay attention to those tire pressures either, with modern tires those pressures are too low. Low pressure in the front will give you a case of the wobbles.
Yeah, 20W-50 was available in the 70s...that was when most of us used Castrol in our bikes.

Thought those tyre pressures were abit odd when I first got my bike and read the original manual.
