Yep, kinda like that, but none of those guys, including me, look very delighted. Honest, no wheels or bystanders were hurt during the balancing of the wheel. Everything came out fine and Stephen never crashed his bike.

Too bad Randy didn't take a close up shot, anticipating that somebody would want to see it some day. ;)

And IIRC Duane had his Parnes balancer along and liked his better. Whodathunkit?

Maybe. Running a wheel without balancing it is a crapshoot. You may be lucky and it may be close enough to have no problem. On the other hand, it may hop like crazy above 45 - 50 mph. You never know until you try. In the past, I've gotten lucky with rear wheels quite frequently, but only about 60% - 70% with fronts. So, on a front wheel, you may be fine, but there's a quite real chance that you will not.
