I've never really carried any spares, but for my upcoming outback run I think an icu, and spare coil will be in order.

I've had a VR fail on one trip, and a rotor on two. I've had the ignition bean can fail once.
For a long trip, I now carry a VR, an ICU, the bean can HES set up, a Harley coil (small and compact), a rotor and extraction tool. They fit neatly, along with a VM into a small bag.

Don't know for sure but I would think so. Hopefully ignition is independant of that relay.
Did you mean can an airhead be bump started

Yep, that's how I started my '77S bike when its starter relay crapped out at the Hell's Canyon Dam (or before I got there, no way of knowing).

spare ICU,
and I think I can get a Dynacoil in there.
All good used or new.
Depending on the journey, not at all too much. I would add: two sparkplugs already gapped, clutch cable and a spare front tube, which can be used in the rear in a pinch. The chances of finding a tube of the right size in Podunk is unlikely.

A spare headlight relay is the real corker. They do NOT come from your nearest auto-parts store!
Anyhow, whatever you DO have a spare for...will NOT fail.
