Well, to sum up.

Real OEM is saying it's the same part # now.
Duanne says no.
Vansen is drunk, or hung over? Or just angry.

I know that 40 140mm spokes is the same, but I was wondering about something like Duanne says, the head system....

Too bad Lonnie is not around anymore. He'd straighten all you guys out.

I seem to recall from his wheel building page that the /2 spoke hub ends are different from the /5.

All of the Earles fork models had spokes that required a collet piece to hold it from turning. So, one needed 40 of each; collets, spokes and nipples. It really was a great system.

The first two years of the /5 used a spoke with smaller shoulders than the /2. They broke often at the heads. if the shoulders weren't exactly the same height, the head would be forced to tilt a bit. Then they would break off.

There was an easy way to make them work, but few wanted to go to the trouble to "set" them with a punch and retighten the nipple.

I know, more than anybody wanted to hear.

Drunk ? Perhaps. Hungover ? Not a bit. Angry ? Never.
Would I trust Duane's take on spoke fitment ? ABSOLUTELY !.

Will these work for a /6 rear wheel?

They are both 40 - 140mm spokes, but is there a difference in the /2 type spoke?

Thanks
They should, but why not buy from a reputable source for not much more? Who knows where aftermarket spokes are made? Huckys sells the same part number spoke for all 18" wheels, /2 -/6.

Tim, I agree, buy from a trusted source. Do you want them to stay in business? Support your favorites, even when it costs a bit more.
