Does the fork look a little shorter than stock? And the shocks a bit longer? I'm wondering if the fairing would different on a stocker, running at a different angle to the ground.
Call me Mel. Some years ago- never mind how long precisely- having little or no money in my purse, and nothing particular to interest me at home, I thought I would ride about a little and see the other parts of the world.

Is that the new VW van or his fuel tank?

The orange tank does appear to be the BMW specific after-market item
that was fabricated in FRP, and sold in the 1970s by Hein Gericke.

I would modify the fairing to retain the big headlight. I've always liked airheads better with big lights and big tanks....although the orange monster has gone beyond my taste range. The old 5+ gallon /6 tank still looks good to me...dents and all..

I think they're stock forks-w-Brembos....and an unusual fork brace.

If that orange tank is full, the forks are bound to be shorter.

Well, I just picked up a Yamaha
TZ750 (OW31) race fairing on eBay.

I don't have it yet but it looks to be in good shape.
It's already been chopped a bit to fit something else so I don't feel too bad about butchering it to fit my airhead.
This should be interesting. The vintage is right, although it's a very different bike.
I saved about $168.00 off the Airtech/Gustafson combined price, so I'm happy.
I'll document the project, but don't hold your breath, this could take awhile.
