My 15 year old Blundstones should work.
I've spent most of my money on women, motorcycles, and beer.
The rest of it I just wasted.

Well I'm glad you've moved on from ignition to footwear in less than one page.

And I did nothing to help. (as usual)

Ok. S /OT is in the middle of the window at 1100 rpm. All is well....or well enough.

3000 rpm has Z at the bottom of the window and rises slightly higher at higher rpm.

Not the cause of the higher rpm breakdown.

Regarding float level, I can be riding at say 3500 in third, give it WOT and have the engine stumbling as soon as it gets to 6500>
I reckon I can hit the higher revs before the fuel level drops enough to cause a problem.
Or, I can go from throttle fully off at said rpm, give it WOT and get same response.

Bump your main jets up(or down) one size and give it a try.

It's a recent problem George. The engine has often been 7500+ and even just over 8000 some months ago.
I have noticed over the last few months the engine being a little reluctant to reach these high rpm with the usual ease.
I have at times found that too tight on the valves will cause the same thing but the valve settings are good........

With a little more memory applied, the breakdown seems to be an inconsistent one, as in I can feel spurts of enthusiasm from the engine during the breakdown.

With even a little more memory applied, I can detect faint reminders of a similar issue I posted about. Hmmm.

I should have a replacement gear linkage arriving this week so I can check things out.
