That's what happens when you buy a bike off eBay, anyway after some redundancy time and money it ended up like this...

It took me down to Greece this summer

I got a clean wheel spline picture here, it really doesn't look much worn, does it? Less than 20%? I think I could get away with just doing the final drive and be good for another 127,000mls?

Stephen, I had Bruno do a FD spline replacement on a high mileage FD I had for my RS last year. He replaced main seal as well.

Also got mating rear wheel spline cup from him at same time (he has them)...had Petersen's do the riveting.

Bruno did excellent job as usual....good to go another 200,000kms+ !!

I know you know Bruno and his work...give him a shout

Stephen, did this last year with Hansens. I just sent them the splines to redo, mine looked about like yours.

Nice work by them and quicker than expected, think it was a week turn around tops.

Just my opinion, if your redoing the seals and have the $$, do the splines at the same time.

Not a big deal, but wouldn't want to redo it next year again. Worst part was getting all the cardone (sp?) gasket off and that would be part of redoing it next year.

I redid the wheel splines too, probably would have left them alone if done again, used the bolts/nuts instead of rivots.

Really not a big deal once all the old rivots were out, seemed like it shouldn't have been as much work removing them as it was.

I would, Bob, but for now the bike is still in the US and then, sending the parts up to Canada and back down doesn't make sense, cost-wise. Fedex or UPS ground is way cheaper. ASnd you get a good service here too!

But it seems I only need the FD done (if anything) at some point in the future. What I am showing in the pictures is from a 127,000mls bike.
