FWIW...
I'd never buy a new Bosch starter without checking the old one over. Odds are that 2 new bushes, new brushes, a bit of elbow grease and a coat of paint is all that it needs to make it as good as new... 2 hours max and about 10% of the new price. In extreme conditions the solenoid and the pinion can be replaced but I've very seldom found it necessary. These things are built like brick outhouses... why build a new outhouse when all you need to do is replace the paper and pull the flush .
