Any chance of simplified wiring diagram, series V parallel?

You can draw it in your mind.

Series = Train cars

Parallel = Tuning fork

I would like to mount a small LED in the edge of my /S screen as an indicator warning light.

Does anyone done this before? I seem to remember something about LEDs requiring a resistor in the circuit..........

All advice at a level suitable for some one illiterate in the ways of electricity welcomed.

We're a bit slow in the country.

I used a 12 volt led with diodes to create this.

I no longer accidentally leave my indicators on!
I'll have to go and have a look at how I did it.
I told the guy in the electronics store what I wanted to do, he said do this, this, and this.
It worked

Head scratches............

From what I can see without digging too deep.

I ran one very thin power wire up one side of the screen to the led, and the ground down the other side.
I did it this way so as to have minimal wiring to hide under the screen trim.

I added a wire from each front indicator positive terminal and put a diode in each wire. Both of those wires were hooked to the + wire going up to the led.

The diodes prevent power going back down the 'other' indicator + wire. Left and right indicators would come on at the same time without the diodes.

The ground wire going down the other side of the screen goes to a ground terminal on the right indicator body.

I needed to cut a little notch in the top of the screen to 'receive' the led body.

Man, if I can do it...............

What sort are they?

Er, stripy blue ones and em.......a little clear led.

Just ask the electronics store guy, he'll know.

Jeff, I notice your usual indicator idiot lights aren't working. Is this due to you substituting the system, or were they already kaput?

No dis-connectors, but could be done easily.

The proper idiot light was not working at the time of the vid.
Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't.

Only one wire breakage in about 2 years? on the led from vibration of a soldered joint near the screen.
