Yep...but I'm describing the 81-84 models, so you need to ensure they're similar. I expect they are, but you'd better confirm.
On my bike, to change the seal, I follow the instructions I put up. The top of the fork only needs the filler bolt to be removed, with a allen key.

You must hold the allen hex to unscrew the nut which retains the fork leg into the triple tree.

Yes the slider should come off after removing the "bottom" bolt.

Daz - Just in case (not this time perhaps) you do want to get into the TOP of your forks (for example to clean, lube, adjust the roller bearings) then please understand that you do NOT try to turn the 17mm socket head, instead you HOLD IT FROM TURNING while you loosen or tighten the very large thin nuts pulling the stanchions up to the top triple clamp.
