I rode a GPZ 250 Kawasaki in much the same style and was very impressed by the performance. There is no reason you wouldn't be able to go on tour with this machine. If the shoulders are a problem risers could be a inexpensive solution. I remember reading that the fuel filter on this bike was placed outside the fuel tank. That's a good thing! IMO a chain oiler is a great addition. On my 1200 Shitzuki with a chain oiler, I do not have to adjust the chain between tire changes, and I'm not that easy on the throttle. The chain oiler I use is called a Loobman and is by far the cheapest and IMO the best. Under $50. No vacuum or electrical connection. Riderwearhouse carries them or you can order direct.

Thanks for the heads up on the chain oiler! It looks like the one.
I asked the head mechanic/owner of the Honda dealership where I bought the bike about this type of lubing device and he scoffed at me. But otherwise he seems like a real nice fellow. He moved my "U" bolt Ram mount from the Ruckus to the new bike without me even asking. I was planning on taking my GPS gear home with me in my pockets!

I like the looks of the bottle on the chainoiler website better than the one Riderwearhouse sells, but that is just simple vanity. I would imagine the bottle with the screw on lid is more secure than the one that looks like a pill bottle (non-childproof...)

I have no qualms about putting miles on this bike. I've already installed my Butt Buffer gel pad that I bought for the R65 several years ago. It didn't do squat for comfort on the R65 (that required a new seat from S. Meyer), but I still had it laying around, and after last Sunday's romp I dug it out and installed it and shazam! no more hard sportbike seat!
Next up, a $10 pair of slip-over foam grips. Especially for when I get the engine broken in...

Might as well get those undergrip heaters. They cost around $30. and they are always there when your hand are cold!
Once you've had a pair you can never go back.

As far as the KY is concerned.....try Astro Glide, it's more natural

The Hondamaha dealer had one of those under their tent at yesterday's vintage show. Looked nice. They also had a NC700 next to it. Nice to see attention being paid to smaller and high-function equipment instead of Newer! Faster! Newer! Faster!

In the (pre-85) show itself, except for one raunchy CB750 chopper, all the Jap stuff was 650 or smaller and only one other Four. One was reminded that once upon a time every manufacturer made ranges of stuff under 500cc.
