Ethanol mix or methanol? They have different solvent characteristics. Also MTBE and other modern additives can play hell with old-school plastics.

I have orig floats on my 75/6 and I've put about 50K miles on it over the last 12 years in Southern Cal. Still floating.

Tim, I'm running "Regular", normally 87 octane.
There are a number of station near me (and even on the road!) where they sell "NO-Alcohol-Gas" and I buy that when I can.
I rarely let the tank get to reserve, so whenever I buy gas somewhere that might have alcohol in it, it probably gets blended a bit anyhow. Most brand stations at Rally sites are either Hess or BP.
What's in the gas is also determined by what STATE you live in. The stuff they call GAS in Virginia is junk.

I can only get 10% Alcohol gas in Florida. I have used the white floats for over 5 years and have no problems. Several month ago I call Bing to see if the still sold the white single floats. They told me they still sold them.
