Although you are probably on the road and cannot reply...THANKS for the update about the coil.
AND you know that if you have a GOOD spare along you won't need it.
What you described in the first post pointed to a flaky coil.
How nice you had a bike to "borrow" from!
BUT what if you daughter-in-law wants to go for a ride?

Hi,
Well, naturally no further problems. Carrying a spare seems to guarantee it. Down in AZ , I put the new Dyna coil from Moto-Electrik on and kept the daughter-in-law's coil as spare. The flaky one was left in AZ, because they never have rain, so it would be a good spare for someone!
Rest of the trip to Copper Canyon was great, although presenting some interesting challenges. DO NOT go to the bottom of a canyon when it starts to rain. After several days of rain you can't then get out. Everything turns to deep mud, made worse by churning 2 wheel drive vehicles. But still fun.
Coming back was fine, but it turned cold north of Las Vegas and I had heat on for the rest of the trip. Snow in northern Nevada. definitely, the end of the riding season for me.
Thanks again for the helpful replies before I left.

Good to hear your back. it is a long way down to the bottom of at Copper Canyon. I have only peered over the edge from our hotel room at the top.

Yes, but I cheated and took the train from Chihuahua.
