List of parts for tranny rebuild
Re: List of parts for tranny rebuild
Jeez Rob, I'm pretty tempted... But, I have three "apart" transmissions on my bench, all of which could be put back together, and one tranny that came from a crash- bad case, but fine innards (some of which have been given away or used for other projects). I think I have too much stuff already. I think I have to stop experimenting and get these darn things done...

Re: List of parts for tranny rebuild
Hi Don, I sold off the main parts of the two bikes that we bought. Then I took an honest job and that was 6 1/2 years ago. Now it is time to rid myself of the frames and assorted small parts.
So, yes I remember you and fondly. Good luck with your project. A good friend in your area is doing some transmission work now and he may have something useful. Let me know.

Ask the Indians what happens when you don't control immigration.

Hi Duane- Funny, I was thinking yesterday of when we first met and you hauled off those two bikes . I didn't buy them myself, but referred to you, because I was afraid of how I'd ever manage taking apart a complete bike (and I was afraid of my wife if I brought home two basket cases). Since then, I've sneaked 10-15 bikes past my wife, bought and sold about 1000 parts, and have enjoyed 5 "riding bikes" (including the two wonderful R80ST's).
Anyway, I think I've got this tranny thing handled, and even found some of the parts for the project I bought 3-4 years ago. (Maybe if I keep searching my garage, I'll find the missing parts of my brain and memory).
Off to work... (on my cool R100GSPD, reclaimed from a barn...)

I think that wives know that husbands that are happy out in their workshops are more docile mates that tend to not go out carousing all night.
