I agree with Chuey that the buyer is missing some marbles. I bet the transaction doesn't get completed with the receipt of payment and we see this bike again on the block.
I have been following the R6X models on e-bay just to see what they have been going for and it is possible this one would go in the neighborhood of 15K, but only if it had those old nice bags that were scuptered on the side.
Why they never addressed the crappy R69S logo is a mystery, not that thorough of a restoration if you miss something so visable.
As far as Suki and that picture of her on that BMW, one of my favorites. Very appealing.

All the original 14mm fasteners on my R50/2 were solid pitted rust...

If you've got "too many dollars" you don't need cents... (sic)

While trolling MaxBMW,s ebay site, looking for for this magical R69S, I found this:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-HELLA-HEADL ... 3ccd68b2d6
If it is real it will go for a silly price as well.

Well something happened because the item listing is totally gone, vanished; not listed as ended, etc.
I assume we'll see it up on the block again, though I'm sure Max & staff agreed wholeheartedly w/ the valuation.

Think the bidder made a typo booboo....probably meant $13,000 not $130,000!!!!
Geez, if he didn't he's smoking something

Actually could have been a pretty smart move depending on how the vendor reacts.
Let's say the bidder was happy to pay $13,000. He then deliberatly adds the extra zero and now he can't be outbid by genuine bids of say up to $15,000. So wins the auction and says to the vendor "sorry mate I added the extra zero by mistake. Gets the bike for $13,000 when it might have gone to $15,000

That was my initial thought and why I suggested he still had his gloves on when doing the bidding!

Yeah, but, two different bidders typed $130K+!! The first one might have had gloves on...the second one must have been looking through his sunglasses...or doing it from his phone!!
