That frame is bent beond repair.

You can say that again, Robert! Reminds me, though, another place to put a straight edge on to check frame is along the top tube. They were straight from the factory as well...

Here are a few pics of the wreck. I have not put a straightedge on the steering brace, but it looks like it bowed a little. There is a slight corresponding bow on the other side, but the picture was lousy so I deleted it.

After seeing those picks, I'm glad to hear you're OK. That bike was sliding on the ground for some distance.
Still the front end doesn't look like it took most of it. Frame/forks may be OK.

The tank came off the bike and slid about 25 feet. I did about 35 feet. The bike was held up by the limo. I went over the hood. I hope I scared the shit out of the driver.

That's pretty ugly Dave! It looks like the bike did some rolling and sliding before coming to rest on the limo. That's gotta be discouraging for you, insult to injury as it were.

I hope and expect that the Limo driver was covered by good insurance and that squeezing money from the insurance company won't be too hard. The insurance company is also liable for the helmet, jacket, and other things than just the bike.

I wish I could write something that would lift your spirits, but at the moment I can't come up with much of anything. The best I can come up with is to suggest that if you do embark on a repair program, when it's done you will be filled with satisfaction, both for the restoration and yourself for restoring it.

Yep - if you are going to be taken out by something - best if it is a company vehicle.

Sorry about that frame being bent, I didn't go through all the pictures. Straight ones run in the $150-200 range.

To their credit they do say in the description: "Major flaws other than normal wear: BADLY BENT AS SHOWN"

To their discredit, they are attempting to sell a piece of worthless junk. They should not be allowed to call it a "frame." An "ex-frame" would be acceptable.
