I wrote something down that someone had posted. His 82 R100RT (6.3g) had 83 and 25mm straws. He also indicated that he had 1.25gal reserve.

Thanks Kurt. That equates to a 4.7 litre reserve.
I'll measure and compare the Germa and Karcoma straws when I convert them in a couple of weeks.

The staws from my 78 RS are 90 and 30mm respectively (see below)
I think I have already talked to you about my Karcoma modidification with the brass (model aero fuel) pipes. They work really well.

Excellent pix.
I filled the tank yesterday with a known 1.9 litres (left reserve volume)in it, and I only managed to squeeze 21 litres in.
Capacity is stated as 24 litres, but the filler throat design has robbed it of at least 1 litre. Functional capacity is more like 23 litres.
So, for me fwiw, I would now expect to reach reserve at 19.2 litres, and have 3.8 litres total reserve left.
