Thanks Rob but I remain unconvinced. My old BatBike ('95 R100R) was bigger and it was still too small (although it was closer-enough that it took me a few years to figure this out). The CBR might be OK for short local stuff, but according to
http://cycle-ergo.com/ I'm going to have some problems with high and bent knees. For reference, I also find the BMW F800S & ST to be a bit cramped, as well as other popular mid-size machines like the V-Strom.

Yeah, the GS is a Veg size bike. Also, R1200RT, most likely. It seems like a huge bike to me. I sat on one and my VW seems smaller.
Thing is, Veg, you should check out some of ME109's videos of him riding his R100RS. He's an awesome rider and he is something like 6'2".

A good link, thanks. The G650 CX would be even better than my ST when it comes to knee angle .

Oh yes; a while back I got to ride Randy's sweet '84 RS for 5 miles or so. It was comfy enough for that short burst, although the narrow handlebar took some getting used to. Very nice machine though!

Aren't those saddlebags what the Australian Army packs Spam in, or something?

US Army food containers, all stripped out and with a new rubber seal around the top, ridiculously large and very good. Moderately light too as they're aluminium.
I've built a quick release for them too, about 30 seconds to remove or mount.
Did I mention cheep?
