Sweet, I just nabbed a cable kit from him for Euro bars. It will make me rest more easily know that all the cables are fresh.

It's a cheapo motorcycle carrier from Harbor Freight. (99721)

My boss sent me an e-mail one morning last year with a link to a 1991 Honda 600 Hurricane (badly wrecked) and told me to go pick it up, and that he'd pick up the bill on what I needed to do so. It works really well because you roll the bike on one way, then keep pushing it that same way to roll it off. Even with flat tires, it's doable.

Now that I look at it, I was a little overweight hauling the R50 home, oh well.

Well, I took the advice of keeping money in my wallet, and I went to Harbor Freight today to see if I could circumvent paying for chroming.

So far, polishing parts on this bike is working very well. I'm also replacing nasty screws along the way, as I'm lucky to live only a few miles from several fastener stores.





My battery also came in, and luckily most of the electrical functions work. The horn doesn't seem to work for some reason, and the starter only worked very briefly.

It's really fun to bring this machine back to life! I hadn't noticed under the dirt, but the ODO reads just over 17,000 miles.

The horns are very easy to sort out. I have an article on my website for troubleshooting the starter.

yeah, it's really common for old motorcycle horns to go bad. Hopefully you can resurrect it with Duane's info.
