I like that as long as it harmonic balancer! My old XT 500 was a great bike but the vibrations were .... difficult . :(

Googling, I found one reference to the SR500's harmonic balancer.

Or better yet the 600 like my daily rider. I also had the SR 500 for some time.

I despise the retro concept. It negates the present. I know these are the good old days!

I don't agree, where talking appearance here. No one disapproves of a good engine, good performance and good handling but I'm happy to express my opinion out how the package looks and how much it should weigh!

Exactly. 400 for Japan. Kept the export a 400 for cost savings.

I haven't found any mention anywhere about about it being counterbalanced though.

From what I have read, the only major difference between the 400 and 500 is the crank and conrod.

Thanks Doug, I didn't know about the 400cc licencing thing in Japan.
