My two worst get-offs both involved sliding on my left side. Strangely, I was wearing the same 2-piece mesh suit in both (yeah I know...but in the first one I slid off the pavement and onto grass right away). Minimal damage to the suit even after the second incident, and no road-rash in either case. But both did result in what I'm guessing was deep internal bruising (nothing visible on the surface) that kept me from sleeping on my left side for a few months.
