Hmm, I gather that you read what I and others said about cutting a windshield to height, and you decided that's not a viable option for you. Fair enough.
A shorter windshield can cause buffeting around your helmet. In such a case I reckon you will find that very tiring (and noisier).
The too tall windshield is worse yet, IMNSHO. Simply, the issue is safety, what with bug splatters etc. and no window cleaning solvent and wiper blades.
If Clearview makes a shorter yet windshield that might be a better option. Then your whole head should be in "clean" air. Many people ride sport bikes with their head in clean air. When I was riding my Yamaha FJ1100 the clean air was good, plus the air on my torso served to take some of my weight off my wrists.
Lastly, perhaps Clearview would be willing to cut their windshield to your specified height--for more money of course.
