I have a couple wood wedges cut from a 2x4 that I slip under the center stand to raise the bike a bit. The additional height makes removing the rear a bit easier.

I guess a lift table with a rear wheel dropout would be cool. It's only money, can't take it with you.

I would tie the centerstand to the front crossover.
Remove the front tire.
Tilt the bike onto the forks. (try not to have a lot of fuel in the tank)
I always had to deflate the tire to get it between the brake shoes and the swingarm.
I always had a length of 2x4 (in the garage) that I would prop the end of the rear fender upon.
One time, I didn't think about the fuel situation. I had a full tank, and I took both wheels off to take to the shop for new tires.
I left it propped forward for a few hours, and made a big mess.
