OK ...update .
I gave up ,went out and bought a shiny new Shoei TZX .The thing is brilliant !!!
,quiet and light , VERY quiet with a set of yellow foam ear plugs .
Expensive for me at A $599 but money very well spent ! As usual i stuffed around for ages trying to fix my old helmet ,i don't like spending lots of money and I like solving problems ....but in this case the dollars solution was the best one .
