Thas OK Steve, you don't have to go that way. Unless you want to!
The Jounama camp site has not submerged at this point..........so if it didn't go under with this rain, it looks good to camp there.
More rain expected in the general area on Thursday and Friday. That rainfall will be the one to watch.
There will be other options in/very near Talbingo if the water becomes more of an issue.
Rug up lads, keep your sleeping gear and spare clothes
DRY!!
Bring a tarp if possible for shelter or to cover your gear on the ground or to cover yer bike.

He was also hoping to hit the coast around Bermaguii way, where he went first I'm not sure. He'll be ok.
If we don't get much rain this week the camp at Talbingo should be ok.
I'll call the servo operator at Talbingo and ask for his opinion.
The campsite isn't on the Tumut river. It's on the Jounama creek.
Thanks ... that's good news , my geography of that part of the country is pretty hazy so I had no idea .
There's another 20 or 30 mm expected this week .

Thredbo has had a total of 230mm in 6 days which totally washed a metre of snow off all the slopes. The rain combined with the snow melt is causing havoc.
http://www.weatherzone.com.au/snow/report/nsw/thredbo
Talbingo forecast
90% chance of 10-20mm Thurs
50% chance of 1-5mm Friday
5% chance of <1mm on Sat
80% chance of 10 - 20mm on late Sunday
Looks OK but we may need to get away reasonably early Sunday to beat those showers

Ya know I reckon if the Jounama creek drops just enough, and the water clears just enough, there's a good chance of a trout in that there crick. Bunch of worms, or if the water is clear enough a 'Rapala' perch pattern cd5 is the go.

Here's a link to 'sea to summit' waterproof storage bags.
I use them in various sizes and swear by them.
All my bedding and clothes, foodstuffs and anything else you want to keep dry.

Edit: I got the colour coordination thing happening. Even got a red and a black one. Might even have a green bag.

For Grant and I it's looking like Saturday will be a cool, dryish day to do the ride up there...and the forecast up there is for rain late Sunday. We'll be almost back home by then.
Some tarps, dry clothes and beer and no worries!

Windy ride comin' up lads. Friday and Saturday. Snow above 1200 mtr.
Fair chance of getting wet both days.
Wind easing in the evenings.
Thursday seems to be the wettest day at Talbingo.
Other than that, everything else is fine! I will probably fly low and stay outa the hills.
Edit: About the paddle. We might all end up shit creek without a paddle.
