I stopped riding it around 2000 or so and took it apart in 2002 and put it back together in 2006-2007. I have neglected it a few years and am ready to get going on it again.
Be welcome here. What a great way to say hello to us all with a sexy R75. Not only do i love the look of the seats on these but love the look of the tank with the knee grips.

Welcome aboard David, and that's too nice an airhead to neglect, you must get out and ride it.

The R65 started life as the PO`s crap attempt at a Cafe` Racer. All black and no style
. The tank is an R100 tank. The bike came with a cut down seat, with the R65 cowling attached and most of the subframe exposed. I fabricated a cowling at work along with the side covers to replace the plastic jobs that would fly off anyway if not ziptied. New Emgo pipes($115 a side Bugger Staintune
). Paint was done at work as well as powdercoating. Yes I work in a restorers dream workshop.
Motor was pretty sound to start with, although it needed a new reg/rec, diode board and a timing chain. After 2 rebuilds on the Koni`s I got a pair of YSS shocks for the rear. I still would like a better front end, but havent come up with any fitting ideas yet. Have a new Dyna Brown coil and leads on the way from the states as we speak.
I get to a few rallies about, so if you see the bike come say hey.
Cheers
Craig
Tell me alittle about those YSS Shocks, are they performance quality, & where are they made? thanks mate.

Here's the most recent photo of Grandpas Axe. This bike has changed so much in the last 6 years that a friend calls it "Grandpas Axe". The axe head remains the same the handle has been replaced 7 times. Different tank, wheels, seat, etc.
