The 'optimist' in may says that as soon as you settle on a tyre that suits you, they'll discontinue it before you wear out your present set...

Also remember every pair of trail running shoes I ever found that I loved, and can never find again.

I did a quick comparison on the replacements for the Activ, the new Michelin Road Classics in our sizes (4.00x18 & 3.25x19) R $192.95, F $194.95. Compared them to the Bridgestones BT46: R $128.84, F $103.29. I put a set of the Bridgestones on my new to me K75, will see how they do. I am running Bridgestones on my Triumph, but I believe they are Spitfires and no longer offered.

Update on tires -

Sooo, I went for my first decent (340km) ride of the season yesterday, with new Tourances front and rear.
Wow! My bike is back to its old self!
Drifting sideways out of corners at will, and with total confidence*, in spite of the cold, debris, sand and gravel strewn spring tarmac. Not to mention the fresh barely broken-in rubber.
No close calls whatsoever. Just pure bliss! I just love that damned bike!
It handles exactly like my CR500R open class motocrosser did in its day, only there's an invisible 250 pound chick sitting on the back. At least she's on my side and rootin' for me. ;)
It's like putting on a pair of your favourite old slippers, but way faster.
Hallelujah! The old PD's back with a vengeance!

* I know this type of behaviour might bite me (or kill me) one day, but I'm almost 67 and it hasn't yet. If it ever does (kill me), knock on wood, my widow Krystin will know how to inform you all.
My death wish is that my bike's remains be doused in gas (from its hopefully still near-full 35 liter tank), and lit, and that its cremation be posted on YouTube for posterity.
FYI - It's legal to burn a bike if the location is suitable and your not submitting an insurance claim. :P

I've ridden 10,000km since my above post of May 6.
My Tourances are now 75% worn.
I already have a new set on standby ready to install in early August before leaving for another maritime province long (6000km) ride.
