Re: Mikunis on an R100RS?

As you may know, I recently the top end of my slash five rebuilt. It had 114,000 miles on it and was ready for some love.
In looking into the options, I explored some of the possible directions. When I added up the costs of what would be involved, I decided to back off a bit. I ended up going from 750cc to 800cc, since the cost was the same as my needed re-bore and new pistons. I went to a higher compression, as it was not an expensive upgrade (high compression pistons were not more expensive and the head machining was reasonable). I added a lower plug, in case I need to dual plug due to the higher compression. This was also reasonably done, since the heads were in for a rebuild. I opted not to do a 336 cam and switch to mikuni's...due to cost.
Since I know the bike well, I can say that the change is noticeable and welcome. I recently went on a ride two up and enjoyed being able to pass cars without worry.
