I was wondering if all those good intentions and carefull re-engeneering would help, too bad.
The idle circut with it's two tiny holes on each side of the closed butterfly are there for a reason, and need just the right amount of air movement across them to idle, and then to transition to midrange correctly. A bit of air getting past the butterfly some where else just doesn't work.
I am allways amazed at how carbs where ever designed in the first place, especially before computor modeling. I could never do it, heck I barely even know how they work.
Good post Frog!
