Yeah, that was a major flaw in this thread, but I like reading it anyway.

Yup, I love to be entertained, brings me here again and again ...
but entertainment and knowledge will sometimes be very different creatures, eh ?
In any event, I will appreciate that person who cannot wait or hesitate to jump in,
dirty the hands, and attempt to sort a problem –
whether that be a right or a wrong "fix" strategy matters not ...
I commend the
attitude of correct persistence,
and just wanted to say so.

FWIW, whenever I rebuild a motor or take the jugs off, I turn the motor over with (the plugs out and) the rocker covers off until Oil comes from each of the four rockers... that way I know there are no blockages before I start her up. One of those 5 minute checks that can save hours.

I hear you loud and clear. I was so sure things were clean and clear. I didn't realize a 15 year old piece of silicone was waiting to spoil my day. Always check for oil at the rockers...
