Not Ducati envy. I much more would prefer a R1200S.
I do think the tambourine comment is hilarious, though.

I don't get the tambourine comment.
And, will not Olaf need to have a tank-slapper or two to get the authentic Ducati experience?

"Tank Slapper" has been an authentic BMW SWB/5 experience for me ...

The tambourine refers to the ubiquitous Ducati dry clutch rattle.
The tank-slapper I experienced was on a fake classic (modern retro model), rather than a real classic. The modern Ducatis have very quick steering. The Ducatis "of the period" had long trail slow steering and were know for being extremely stable at speed, but not particularly nimble.
P.S. My Sport Classic also had a wet clutch, so, without the rattle, I'm not sure
I've had "the authentic Ducati experience."

Did it ever stop running for no good reason?
Did all the switchs work?
Did the tach AND speedo both work at the same time?
If you said yes to any of the above, did you just love it anyway?

I saw Major Softie's Ducati when we met in Tracy at an event coordinated by Jeff in WC. I can say that neither Duane nor myself would like to have that bike living next door (loud exhaust). And, I can vouch for the fact that despite his Tamborinis he was suffering from tambourine envy.

No.
Yes.
Yes.
As I said, I'm not sure I had the "authentic" Ducati experience.

Wow, I didn't know or remember that you were there that day. I was working and my work took me right by that place and I noted the various bikes, but didn't connect that it was a bunch of my friends. That was too bad.
Later on MS stopped by my house on his way home. We got to meet and it was quite nice.

The first two sound like the introduction of the BMW K1300 series...the last two don't.

I have come up with a bolt on solution that will enable you to get the sound you seek. For a relatively low introductory price for this forum, I am making these available in limited supply. Easy mounting solution available for additional fees. Yes, I can produce them in red too for an additional 12.95 plus shipping.
