Don't know who said it, but he's wrong. Everybody has faith, just in different things. All faith is based on some understanding, though incomplete - including modern science and philosophy. Takes faith to hop on your airhead and believe the engine will fire up when you push that button. Takes faith to believe your tires will hold air. These are founded on experience and science. What the Bible reveals about God does not unformed faith to believe - it takes supernatural faith that only comes as a gift from God. This is why people whom God has not saved make such statements as the one you quoted - they cannot understand what God has said and think it without merit. But even the author of that statement would be amazed at the historical support for the Bible as literature - far more ancient text fragments attest to the authenticity of Scripture than any other ancient writings.

All people are religious - most are not honest enough to admit it. Those who have false gods tend to get worked up over those who have the One True God.
