Re: So this is where all the airhead action is!
Well, I have an actual question for you about your bike. It looks like it's missing pin stripes, so I assume it is a respray. Did your original silver paint go to shit? I have a '73 in polaris silver and the paint looks terrible. I have been putting off repainting because the bike doesn't have a dent or scratch on it otherwise. But the paint went all chalky in the 90s. I don't know whether it was sun damage or global warming or what.
Re: So this is where all the airhead action is!
The previous owner did the respray so I can't comment the condition of the original paint prior to that, other than to say it appears to have always been silver and the respray has held up very well in the decade I've owned the bike.boocephus wrote: Did your original silver paint go to shit? Having said that, I have an acquaintance with Bimmer 02 in its original Polaris paint, and it's exactly as you describe it: chalky.
When I had my 02, it was also originally Polaris but I resprayed it in Porsche silver with clear-coat and larger metallic flakes for a more dramatic effect .

Both of the BMW gray colors failed to hold up. Otherwise I like the color and my daily rider, which I don't ride, is gray and holding up well now for over 20 years.
Ask the Indians what happens when you don't control immigration.

Although ^^^THIS^^^ fact may seem frivolous to you, it's actually essential to me & my "unique experience of riding a Toaster".Zombie Master wrote:Many are attracted to shiny things.gocytocis wrote:Chicks dig the toaster!Zombie Master wrote:Tell us about the unique experience of riding a "Toaster" as compared to a "standard."
My well-meaning wife (who also rides btw) periodically questions my need for multiple motorcycles. Usually it's the uglier bikes, like the dual sports, that she'll identify as candidates for disposal. On the contrary, she's adamant that my 75/5 is NOT for sale, and never will be, precisely because of the 'pretty' tank.
A 'regular' /5 would never escape her scrutiny like my 'Toaster' does, and I likely wouldn't even be allowed to own this bike were it not for the tank!

Oh. I didn't read the first post very well...or the profile, actually.
Alberta is a LONG way off.....for sure. Thanks Kurt.
I'd want more than one motorcycle if I lived there, too!
gocytocis, bikes are beemers...I'm really surpris(z)ed no one called you on this.
Actually many of us have our bikes named. Nice names.
Not like dammitbike or similar.
Yo bike got a name?
