He seems happy with the Alpha now that his coil problem is solved. Question is how long will it last. Unfortunately my Omega ended prematurely, so I am back on points.

I have a feeling that the problem with the Omega was that the 'black box' was mounted inside the front cover, too hot and vibratory for the electronics.
I have been having various discussions on the accessnorton site about the TriSpark ignition, which also mounts the electronics in side the Norton contact breaker space, it's nice and neat and the manufacturers reckons that the black box is well protected, but in my mind inside a Norton is a Very Hot and vibratory place to mount electronics.

I'm going to give Boyer a shot instead of this Alpha. I've used Dyna in the past but from what I understand, the advance curve and the mounting mechanism on the Boyer is simple and works great.
