Geezerhood Approaches-Lowr Pegs/Raise Bars RS

I studied the bar issue and have given up on bar risers or K75S bars. I tried rotating the bars up, but even a little change puts the bar ends into the fairing. I guess one could heat up the bars, but....I like the dash pad and knob there and the bars aren't really my problem.

I'm making a little progress with the pegs, however. Both pegs rotated down about 1 1/2 -2 inches before interfering with the stock exhaust system. The brake lever adjusted to the new peg position in 30 seconds by increasing the size of the lever stop. So what I'm left with is figuring out how to readjust the shift lever down. I have another 1" of free travel before it hits the exhaust and probably more if I encouraged it away from the trans a little. I probably don't have the enthusiasm to rework the exhaust, but that's another way to go.

I spoke to Josh Withers at the SoCal BMW Vintage car meet yesterday at Woodley Park (he had a lovely BMW Cafe bike on display) and he revealed that his new company machines up rearsets, etc. and maybe he could make me the just insert part of the shifter and either spline it or set it up with a plate so I could bolt up a Brand X shifter lever and set the location. That way I don't have to booger up the original pedal and the next guy can have it right.

I understand from RealOEM that there's another factory option shifter other than the "all-in-one-piece" shift lever I have (actually 2 others, if you count the heel/toe shifter rig) that has an insert part and a separate adjustable remote pedal but I haven't gotten in front of one of those yet.

That certainly does sound promising.

These guys http://www.oshmo.com/product-category/parts/ are now machining gun-quality rearsets and I'm going to see if I can short circuit their production line and get the insert only and adapt it to a fully adjustable Brand X shifter with 2 setscrews.
