Gee, those new/old Triumphs are nice looking bikes! I can see how you might run through some tie-downs, razor blades, and WD-40, though. Any center stand option?

Indeed they are nice looking bikes. And I give Triumph credit for emphasizing the traditional styling cues, at least on certain models. Arguably that is perhaps the prime factor that has made Harley Davidson the marketing powerhouse it has been, now for decades. (Not that there is anything wrong with that--Seinfeld)

Now if we could only get BMW to do the new-old airhead look (and as much of the feel as they can manage) what a lovely world this would be.

But of course BMW A.G. is a thoroughly modern, forward reaching company. Sigh!

Ken, you are so correct. A new built /7 or R100? Ural can sort of do it. The people from India build various new old stuff. I think folks would like the BMW new old brand. Kind of like dreaming that your favorite sports time will be successful.

And about the center stand, there are choices but I want to see one work first. And see if I'm man enough to put it on the stand. I had a hard time on my R1150RT.

In the next couple days I am going to find out if I am going to be an owner of an R90/6! It's sitting in a snow drift now. :(

My brother in law is my emissary to convince the owner to let it go. We shall see. I'm on the edge of my seat. Winter project!

Me either. I'm guessing that the history of that Triumph goes something like this:

1. Motorcycle assembled at factory.
2. Motorcycle tested, electricals OK, motor and drive train OK, fluids drained and packed for shipping.
3. Motorcycle reassembled by dealer and motor started.
4. Pic taken

I could be wrong though. Step 4 could have happened before step 3.

So for a 100pt. concours resto from the TCA in a few years, will he need to melt a tie-down strap on the exhaust header?
