Just went out and looked. Blind machining hole that is factory epoxied is indeed in the ventury casting half and does not enter the bowl area, but here is a thought... ---->

I wonder if when the bowl was lost off of the bike, it loosened the brass tube for the overflow in it??? You could try carefully inserting something soft and tiny into the inside of the tube to seal ONLY the brass overflow tube itself and see if the gas leaks around the outside of the tube still. Maybe some more brilliant mind knows a better way of checking it (other than trying to "wiggle" it from inside.) That is the best I have for you after inspecting one of mine from the outside. That brass tube may have taken a blow when it flew off of the bike and loosened it in the bowl casting enough for gas to leak around the tube...

I've been pursuing my muzzleloading hobby hoping to forget @ the leaking carb. But alas, it's time to pull batteries,lube cylinders,etc. so I was in the garage earlier-yup, still leaking.
Where are the elves?

Let us all know what you find in the end. Perhaps you may log a new failure mode for these carbs as far as leaking goes that we all can learn from.
