How do I prepare Sofie for long rest???
Re: How do I prepare Sofie for long rest???
The tank has rust in it. It has a hole that i repaired with JB Weld. It has some really bad rust bubbles else were under the tank too. I am thinking of leaving it empty but coat the inside with oil. Maybe even fishoil.
Me wittle bit of the web........http://rossmz.blogspot.com/

Sounds like snake oil wouldn't be enough Ross.Ross wrote:The tank has rust in it. It has a hole that i repaired with JB Weld. It has some really bad rust bubbles else were under the tank too. I am thinking of leaving it empty but coat the inside with oil. Maybe even fishoil.
Rust bubbles don't sound too good.

Yep - it sounds like major surgery for that tank during the downtime.ME 109 wrote:Sounds like snake oil wouldn't be enough Ross.Ross wrote:The tank has rust in it. I think I may go for a better tank come time to restore her. She may get a Bobber/streetfighter treatment yet. Would love to get a huge HPN tank and have a single sprung seat. Like this one http://rossmz.blogspot.com/2008/11/bmw- ... video.html
